What do you get when you combine the swagger of a veteran MC, soul of an old man and the spirit of a winner?  Def Jam’s youngest signee, Lil Niqo –aka- Boy Wonder, the present and future of hip-hop and simply put, the kid with the IT-FACTOR. Lil Niqo born, Niqoles Heard Goodwin, eleven years ago in San Diego, California, always dreamt of being a star. Lil Niqo embarked upon a rapping career at the tender age of seven after performing at his 2nd grade talent show.  After that very first show, it was apparent he was indeed bitten by the entertainment bug.  Lil Niqo took over his hometown, performing at clubs, community events Petco Park & Qualcomm Stadium (home of the Padres and Chargers respectively)!

Once, Lil Niqo’s hobby had reached a professional level worthy of a national recording contract, his management reached out to long time friend and colleague Kevin Wales, industry veteran and CEO of Worldwide Entertainment who had success in working with the tween/teen market.  Upon initial conversation between LN and Kevin, he (Kevin) was sure that Lil Niqo was a superstar, as he spoke with confidence, maturity and focus.  Lil Niqo’s ability to rap was the icing on the cake and Kevin offered him a deal on the spot, knowing he had to sign him to his production company.  While recording with new producers through Worldwide Entertainment/Bu Vision out of Atlanta, Lil Niqo continued to hone his performance skills by performing 2-4 times a week throughout San Diego and Los Angeles via the P.A.C.E Program school tour.

Barely six months into this production deal with Worldwide Entertainment, Kevin arranged a meeting with Bu Thiam, V.P of A&R for Def Jam. Lil Niqo flew out to Bu’s Atlanta’s Def Jam office, showcased and impressed Bu & his staff so much that the following week Lil Niqo was showcasing in New York City in front of music mogul L.A. Reid and his executives.  Almost immediately following the showcase, Bu Thiam walked into the waiting area greeted him with a smile and said “Welcome to Def Jam”.

The rest is history in the making.  As the youngest artist signed to the most legendary hip-hop label to date, Lil Niqo will create music that is clean yet edgy with content varying from simply being a kid having fun to addressing issues that affect the tween community. Whether he is performing at A-listed celebrity events, or walking the red carpet, attending prestigious award shows, such as this years Grammy’s, when asked how he feels about this exciting new venture, Lil Niqo says “I am so blessed and humbled to be signed to my favorite label and I’m just ready to get it in, show my peers it’s cool to be educated and wholesome so leggo”.
